Specialist maintenance

Extensive specialist maintenance is carried out twice a year. During this maintenance, the pitch is carefully inspected by specialist personnel using dedicated equipment.

Specialist maintenance begins with an inspection of the seams and line markings. Worn and loose areas are repaired. Weeds that have grown up around the pitch are removed. Any fencing and equipment on the pitch is also checked and repaired where necessary.

A maintenance machine is then used to clear dirt from the pitch. The infill is loosened. During this process, some of the algae and moss is removed. Finally, the pitch is re-dressed and brushed to restore its playing properties. The hard surfacing around the pitch is brushed clean and the drying mats are beaten.
