Dutch National Team opens Cruyff Court in Krakow on June 5th
On June 5th, the Orange Cruyff Court in Krakow (Poland) will be opened by the Dutch National Team. This pitch is a gift from the Dutch National Team and facilitated by KNVB's World Coaches Project, the municipality of Krakow and the Johan Cruyff Foundation. Edel Grass and her local Polish partner have been responsible for the installation of the football turf mini-pitch.
The playing area is located in the Bronowice area and is next to the primary school SP93, 2 km from the Reymana Stadium. This is the home ground of Wisla Krakow and the training venue for the Dutch National Team during the European Championship. Players want to give something tangible to the local community and provide the children with a safe place to play football. "In Holland, we are used to play football on the best playing areas. This is less common in Bronowice and that's why we are happy to donate this Orange Cruyff Court', says Dutch captain Mark van Bommel.
The Krakow Court is the 7th Orange Cruyff Court provided by the Dutch National Team. This court is number 158 in total, including 22 courts abroad.
